Why ECTN Requires a Bill of Lading
The ECTN certificate must align with bill of lading information because:
- The ECTN number must ultimately appear on the bill of lading
- Destination customs links the ECTN certificate to the actual cargo via the B/L number
- Shipper, consignee, and cargo details on the B/L must match the ECTN

Yes, but the master B/L number (MBL Number) is usually also required.
Q: What if I don't have a B/L for LCL shipments?
